My name is Nataisha T Hill and I am the author of a suspense series called “Partially Broken Never Destroyed.
It’s a hot and steamy women’s fiction series with romance, lies, deception, and a few twist and turns. I also have released a few self-help books and a relationship guide.
Have you always wanted to be a writer?
I’ve been writing poetry and short stories since a very young age. I didn’t pursue writing as a career until after I had my first child. I was 26-years-old.
Tell us about your book, and the story behind writing it
Kayla is the typical single woman in search of a good man to settle down with, marry, and have kids. She has a good heart and wants the “ideal” romance badly enough to believe in men even when obvious signs of deception are there. There are women that I personally know who have or have known someone to go through similar situations such as Kayla. There also are women out in the world who are actually in the process of going through one or more of these situations.
What’s the biggest challenge about being a writer? Do you have a specific writing space?
The biggest challenge of writing is not having enough time to write. I do work a regular job, I am a wife with two kids, and sometimes things get overwhelming when trying to write, edit, and market my books at the same time. Whenever an idea comes to mind, I write about it or save it on a device no matter where I am.
What’s your number one piece of writing advice?
Always have something handy to write with or store on a device because you never know when creativity may hit you.
What books do you currently have on your bedside table?
I only keep my books on hand. I do enjoy other authors, but I want to only be inspired by life and not what someone else may write, if that makes sense.
Who have been your biggest writing influences and why?
My mom has always supported me in whatever I decided to do and encouraged me to always be better than what I was the day before, but if we’re referring to other authors, I would definitely say, Omar Tyree was very influential in my writing style. He was the only author that had me reading a book in less than three days.
How do you market your writing?
I market my book through ads, social media, book bloggers, and guest posts. I’ve done a few book signings in my local area, but I wasn’t enthusiastic about the turnouts
Lastly, something fun. What’s something our readers might not know about you?
I love laughing and being around people that make me laugh. I am one of the silliest people when I am around people I’m comfortable with and who know me.
