It is the first book of the “Of Lite and Darke” series.
Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Really until I was motivated to sit down and write something of my own, I really never gave it much thought. I have always loved to write but never really thought about publishing any of my own works.
Tell us about your book, and the story behind writing it.
It is a typical Fantasy in the sense that it has fairies and magic. Royals and others. But it also differs as not everything that is written in this first book is truth. Yet it isn’t completely lies either. It’s up to the reader to decide what point of view that they choose to believe.
What’s the biggest challenge about being a writer?
Getting the words to translate to paper the way that I hear them in my mind.
Do you have a specific writing space?
Not really. Since all of my writing is done on a computer I can pretty much write anywhere. Including the car.
What’s your number one piece of writing advice?
Have a good editor, but also don’t let them force you to change things that are put in place for a reason. Neither your editor nor publisher know the direction that you are taking the book or series. For an example, in the first book, there are intentional spelling and misused words. The reason behind it won’t be revealed until the very last book. If I would have fixed every word and other “mistakes” I would have to take the book in a direction that I’m not comfortable with.
What books do you currently have on your bedside table?
Who have been your biggest writing influences and why?
I would have to say Anne Bishop for her ability to my weave bit of humor into a dark point of writing. Shannon Hale for the way her books have the ability to reach from young adults to the kids at heart. And so many others who would take me days to mention as I read just about anything.
How do you market your writing?
I am apart of over 100 facebook groups, twitter, pintrest and Google plus. In addition, I try to reach out to do as many interviews as possible. Those interviews can be from podcast to internet magazines. Also being nominated for awards helps.
Lastly, something fun. What’s something our readers might not know about you?
I raise pet chickens and other poultry. Not for food but because they are fun to watch. Most will come up to me when I’m outside and will jump into my lap just to be petted.

Lives entwine sometimes things or parents do come back to hurt their children. And Sometimes those hurts make them stronger.
Eighteen years ago Nisha lost both of her parents to a tragic fire. Or at least that is what she had been told. Something always felt wrong about the story. Something off to the point that it didn’t make sense yet no one had ever wanted to believe her.
Not when she became Queen of the Under Kingdom when she was barely thirteen. Not When her powers started to grow to frightening results. No she had decided after she was crowned the Queen of Darke as her mother had planned then she would find all the answers that she wanted… regardless of who or what stood in her way.
